Why free ? The insurance is too high for a commercial vessel that is not operating full time. This is not a business, this is a pleasure vessel. The motive is to share the love of the ocean with some chic new friends.
Thus, the Sailing Vessel Nereyda seeks volunteer crew and passengers. Her owner Captain Alan enjoys day sails, sunset cruises, and overnight on the hook in West Central Florida waters. But it gets lonely without a merry crew. This is where you come in.
Requirements to sign aboard you ask ? Just a few:
A happy go lucky attitude in the face of danger and storm clouds. Gilligan’s Island theme music begins to play …
To be a good story teller, and quick with a laugh. To be sociable – there are no corners to hide on a sailboat.
Ability to bring your own drinks, food, and your special recipe of xyz to share with your fellow crewmates.
There is no cost, but there is a fine if one is late to the boat when the weather is nice. One does not really have to do anything but smile and scream “I am having a good time !”
S/V Nereyda is a 40 foot 1975 Morgan. She is well equip with automatic pilot, satellite weather, and for the ladies – a bathroom with a door. Also a dingy with electric motor for effortless shore excursions. An on deck grill for the fish or lobster caught. Two wind generators and five solar panels make plenty of power to keep the music playing. And on the hook at night, there is even a projector that shows movies on the mainsail – grab a blanket, and a friend to rest your head on. The Love Boat theme music begins to play …
Clothing Optional – Come aboard to sun your buns and burn your boobs. After the last buoy, wear whatever you want, and a smile. Set out your towel, or drop a fishing line. S/V Nereyda is especially seeking crew that scuba dive – to get the ladies some lobster for dinner !
Ladies, bring your girlfriend, boyfriend, husband, or all three. S/V Nereyda is a safe place for open-minded people. But sorry, no drugs or drunks for safety reasons. S/V Nereyda sails randomly – when the Captain/experienced crew are available, and when the weather is nice. Which could be during weekdays, weekends, even overnight.
Captain Alan has sailed this vessel for more than 25 years single handed, and with a gaggle of partying crew. So, let’s go sailing !
